Decorum [by Rachel Niehorster]

Do you feel it?

That earth-shattering movement in your body?

Where are you right now?

And we go on and on and on

This and that

Have no bother

No knife to flesh

This is not the deluge

Full stop

People are suffering

Are you?

Where were you when you first found out?

That this life wasn't made for you?

Even though you were made in its image

This decorum is improper

The room moved around you

And you don't know the room

No longer do I want to participate at this dinner table

The hunger starts to hurt

Your verbose masculinity is a gaping wound

I ask the table

What shall pass and what will fall?
